In 2016, the Work It Study was the first evidence-based clinical trial to show effectiveness of a therapy driven intervention program to prevent premature unemployment among individuals with arthritis and rheumatic conditions. Providers can now access this tool (WES-RC) and complete a quiz to determine eligibility to be certified in administering the education program within their practice settings. With job loss being high among people with chronic rheumatic conditions, the proposed program has potential to address a key area of need in the community and workplace.
The Center for Enhancing Activity and Participation among Persons with Arthritis (ENACT) was a program developed at Boston University with the aim of improving quality of life among individuals arthritis and rheumatic conditions.
